I just ordered a CRP4896 kit. I am undecided as to whether to use a 2.2KW spindle or use my Porter Cable 7518 router.

I really like the water-cooled spindles. You can get the 2.2KW version with an ER-20 collet which handles up to 1/2" shanks. They are very quiet. They are totally sealed so no sawdust can get inside. They can run continously for hours and hours without heating up. If you use Mach3, there is a driver you can download that allows precise spindle speed through G-Code and the RS-485 interface. Some people use a small diaphram pump like a Flojet with a bucket of water. I don't like the bucket idea, on my machine I use a small motorcycle radiator to cool the water.
