What is the difference between a double cut and a bastard cut mill file?

I notice some files are described with tpi.

Is 16 tpi considered a coarse file?

I've tried to find these answers online with no luck.

I have two old files that are rusty and wanted to replace them. I would like to sharpen them if I can find the thread that covered the process.

In the day of blister-pak packaging, I have not found them locally.

I did find the 14" coarse flat file on Amazon. I ordered a file Wednesday and it arrived about 20 minutes ago. IIRC, the shipping cost was either free or just $3 or $4.
I don't know how they do it.

The file is a Simmonds and was made in Honduras. It does not have the fit and refinement of the old files (30+ years old) but it will do the job that I want it to do.
I need to joint a carcass saw that I am going to re-tooth.
