Hey fellas, I have a Delta 10" contractors saw that I am working on. This has the Beismeyer fence on it too. This is not mine but is exactly like mine with router and all: http://www.vandegrift.com/MyWebPage/Hobbies/Workshop/TableSawRouterTable.jpg
You can see that it has the 13" iron extension to the left side and wood to the right. Basically just using up all the available space that the fence system is around.
I was thinking the other night (because I am building a new wood table part to the right) that I could move the extension wing to the right and put it between the table saw and wood part. Then move the fence system over accordingly.
This would reduce the table to the left to about 12" or so but would allow me to rip almost 4' between the fence and blade on the right side.
It looks like this is how this one is set up: http://community.woodmagazine.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/2023i71875B561CCA25CA/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1
I dont see much purpose to that extension on the left side other than for supporting work to be cut off maybe, but that could be handled with a flip up table or something. So what do you guys think?
Thanks!
