Hi all, I haven't posted here for a while so I thought it was time again. I started doing small lidded boxes based loosely on Kathy Marshall's thread "How I Turn Little Boxes (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?175544-How-I-Turn-Little-Boxes&highlight=)", thanks Kathy. This one is from an arborvitae tree I cut down years ago that was too close to the house. It is 3 1/2" high by 3 1/4" wide (at the base), the sides are about 3/16" thick. The lid has a nice little snap when you close it. I have made about 8 little boxes so far out of different woods and am having lots of fun with them.

I love it. That is a beautiful turning that happens to be a box.I don't know why but the shape is not something I normally like ( in a HF it wouldn't look good at all because of the heavy bottom ) but this shape in as a box looks good.
