Hello fellow wood turners, I noticed that "One Good Turn & Langer Craft Work" is advertising a 2 for 1 sale of their heavy duty boring system. I was wondering if anyone is interested in going half,I think its a great deal. I asked if they would be willing to sell one at half price but they want to move them 2 at a time. Boy, I guess I just don't see that. The ad says "Captive boring bar system sale". Sounds like the whole system to me.

I just talked to Gord and the buy 1 get 1 free is for the whole system. They had 90 of them and in the last 10 days they sold 60 of them at the BOGO free sale. Yesterday they sold 12! I have no connection with them, I just want to point out that if anyone is interested, you better move fast. I just can't afford even the sale price at the moment.

Has anyone used this system? any comments about it?

Both Brian and Gord are members of our local turning club. I've seen the system in person and until this sale didn't want to spend the full amount for it, not that it's not worth it, just a lot to spend for a hobbyist. Brian certainly makes using it look easy, but then he's been doing it for a while. The light he uses with the system for making thin walled vessels makes gauging the thickness a snap. I've used this method for smaller vases on a different boring tool and couldn't believe how easy it was. I'm certainly looking forward to making some deeper vases now. Gord will be bringing my new bars to tomorrow nights meeting. If anybody in my area would like to scoop the second one PM me. The weight of these will make shipping fairly dear but a few hour drive will be worth it at these prices.
