Needed a brake from ruffing a bunch of maple a friend gave me. This is a ash croch i had cut and was sitting on the floor for at least a year. Not knowing what i was gonna find inside of this as it still had the bark on it. (half log) Well as i started turning all this spalt started showing up. :) Well this is what it ended up being. 16x14 at the two widest points. Two coats teak oil so far, but will add more later. Thanks as always.

Very nice work. I have a chunk of wood like that somewhere around here. Maybe I'll try it although it will make my lathe walk across the floor.:D

Yea it did that for sure. I have a 20 ft log of this laying in the woods just 100 ft behind the shop. Think i'm gonna have to take the saw to it and see if there's some more of this spalting in there.:) Thanks all
