Just found an old hand drill like I had for years until it broke .It was aluminum and couldn't repair it.I have one made of steel but the chuck is missing.Does anyone have or know where I could obtain a chuck for it?256663

I don't recall having seen that particular model on auction. I believe you could find a similar, probably better old hand drill for less than replacing the chuck on the one you have. I bought several North Bros/Stanley 1530's so I have back up parts for that amazing little drill. The Stanley 610 is very similar to your drill and I have seem quite a few of them on auction. The chuck on a 610 or 1530 might even fit your drill. Both drill chucks thread onto a simple threaded rod. The 610's chuck shank is larger than the 1530's. The triple jaws on these two hand drills hold hex shanks and smooth standard drill bits equally well. The 1530 is an amazing little engineering marvel that ratchets in either direction, slips, locks....I also have a 1545 which is the big brother to the 1530. I got both a 1530 and 1545 in one bid, in near perfect shape for around $60. I don't think that deal will come around anytime soon though as 1545's often go for more serious money.

Howdy Guy,

Welcome to the Creek. Your profile doesn't list your location. Someone near you may have a pile of parts they would be willing to let you pick through to see if something fits.

I have an old MF breast drill that is missing the jaws from its chuck. The Restore had a loose chuck sitting on the shelf. It didn't fit but it only set me back 50¢.

Are you thinking about a used replacement part? If so, I would measure the diameter of the shank it is on and take a picture of the threads. Posting this information will give anyone with an extra chuck a chance to make an informed decision regarding whether or not there is a match.
