I'm just starting hollow forms and am looking for comments on this vase (before I destroy too much of my mesquite :)). It's 10.5" tall and finished with 3 coats of pure tung oil. Thanks.

It is a very nice vase, I don't think that I would call it a hollow form but that is not important.

Great job on some beautiful wood! Mesquite has such a wonderful feel to it when it is sanded... so dense and so smooth.

Thanks for the comments. Glad to know I'm not the only one that likes it. I was checking Craigslist for "free wood" and found an ad that said "clearing mesquite trees, come cut as much as you want". I had no idea at the time how fortunate I was. It is a wonderful wood.

You clearly didn't "destroy" that one, Mike. I'm jealous of your find.
