Made this for holding the Bride and Grooms rings. It will then be used for a jewelry box so made the finial heavier to try to keep it from breaking off. Can't see much detail in pic. Fun project but extremely hard wood and sanding is another challenge. C&C welcome

Mike, that's stunning. What's the finial wood? And was the lid from the same blank, or a different piece?

Where do you source Mallee in Illinois?

Lee the finial is hard maple and the burls came from Bad Dog burls first time buying from them ordered on Monday and they were at my house on Thursday great service

Jerry I had to use two burls for this but have a piece left over maybe for a couple of pins or a small bowl.
