A guy in town got into woodturning ,I think because of me.
He called the other day and asked if I was interested in going with him to look at an apple tree.
We drove a few miles out of town to an old farm and waded through a foot of snow to cut down a long dead apple tree.
Most of the stump was punk but the branches were worth the trip.
Here is a vessel I turned from the stump with a neat bark inclusion.
I added a cherry lid. 7 1/4 X 3 1/2
The other is a piece of red oak I got from Jeff Nicol with an oak burl lid. 5 1/2 X 3 1/4
Both are finished with spray lacquer.
