Here's a cherry burl bowl mounted on a spalted apple carved stem. Just finished and only 1 coat of DO on it. The carving has gotten a lot easier, by combining my proxon mini carver with my foredom carver, and then texturing with a dremel tool, it only takes around 30 - 45 minutes to finish the stem.256516256515

It would look very nice on someone's knick knack shelf or cabinet. Beautiful work, the transition between the two woods looks perfect to me.

Thanks for your comments, the size is 6 1/2" x 8 1/4", and the bowl is just a hair over 1/8" thick.
