Another winter storm came through Phoenix today and brought snow within viewing distance. This is the 2nd such storm this year, the 1st one actually brought snow in the city of Phoenix and surrounding areas. May not seem like a big deal to those of you that live in snow country, but it's a rare occurence here in the desert.
This was the view from my shop door when I got home from work. There are white capped mountains much closer, but the neighbors house was blocking the shot.

We previously lived in the PHX area, and saw such sights every so often. We see snow on the hills regularly here, but there's just something kind'a magical about snow in the desert! THanks for the photo!
Regards, Marty

Kathy,

I just realized that my last post may have seemed a bit crass. Please except my apology. We regularly vacation in Arizona, and think it's one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Your view is breathtaking!

Minnesota has had a ton of snow this winter. Shoveling and moving it is really getting tiring, and has begun to feel almost like doing so is a matter of survival. A week in Arizona would be an awesome break!

Here is a pic I took last March of the bridge spanning the Roosevelt Reservoir to the East of your location.

Matt, I didn't see that as crass at all. Personally, I thought it was hilarious.

THIS, however, is crass...

We here in Northern PA are wondering if spring will ever arrive.

Well, the snow lasted until sunday and it's warming up quickly. Supposed to hit the high 80's by the weekend, sorry for all of you still slogging through snow drifts, just remember that the 80's is early spring here and when you're all enjoying your 70's and 80's, it will be 115 in my shop and I'll be feeling like someone turned the thermostat up to broil .

Matt, nothing crass about your post. I got a good laugh over that!

Wow Matt, Incredible photo.

Thank You Andrew! Besides woodworking, a few of my other favorite hobbies are photography and birding, most often photographing birds LOL. But my camera is normally glued to my eye during vacations. Here is a couple more shots from our Arizona vacation last year.
