new lathe or used

I posted some time back that i sold my lathe in antisipation of buying my friends 1642 2hp. After i sold my lathe he backed out,so now now i am lathe vacant.
I have $1500 to spend on a lathe and i would like to go back to the jet 1642 even if it a used one. Jet is on sale now for $2113 at toolnut shipped. Should i
wait on a used one or bite the bullet and go new. Its about $600 more money.than what i have to spend. Byron

Byron, I would do a search for the Grizzly Green Monster Group on Sawmill Creek. I have never turned on a Jet or Grizzly lathe, but many have, and can offer opinions on the G0632 (1.5 hp clone of the Jet 1642) for $1594 delivered, or the G0733 (2 hp, 18" x 42") for $1845 delivered. If I were upgrading today instead of years from now, the G0733 would top my list of finalists in "best value".
