View Full Version : Any Delta DJ-15 jointer owners out there? What's the motor and pulley size?

Hi Everyone,

I recently picked up a DJ-15 jointer (Delta 37-150) on the cheap, but the motor and motor pulley (along with the switch and several knobs) were not included. I'm getting ready to order a pulley and scavenge a motor, but have no idea what size this unit was originally speced for. Could someone please share with me HP and RPM of the stock motor, and the motor pulley diameter (I have the cutter head pulley)?

Thanks for the assistance!
Matt

Surely someone must own a DJ-15? They made thousands of these things. I wish the manual had the info.

Matthew....a DJ-15 had a 3/4 hp motor that ran at 1725 rpm....try a Delta motor 62-225 or 62-245 for single phase motors.....the cutter head ran at 5500 rpm (hope that helps to determine size of pulley). I'm getting this info from an old Delta tool catalog. Also, motor frame size is NEMA 56.

3/4 hp is good. Motor rpm (1725 or 1350) will determine the pulley size.

Thanks Roger, Myk and Glenn! That's the information I needed. I have a 1/2 hp" 1725 RPM motor collecting dust, so I'll strap that on and see what happens. I'm probably going to be jointing edges mostly, so it hopefully won't bog down.

Cheers!
