7.62 x 54R Bullet Pen w/Mesquite

256133Been a long while since I posted on here. Thought I might as well jump back in with one of my pens. This one was a custom order for a customer. Her brother shoots this round so she wanted a pen out of the same round that he likes to shoot. Finally got a chance this evening after work to turn this one for her. Upper barrel is mesquite with about 8 coats of thin CA. Finished off pen with a little Ren Wax.

Thanks for the comments Jay! The casing was really an easy casing to work with. I had a live primer in it so I soaked it in WD40 to deactivate the primer. I then just drilled the primer out. The neck is a little larger than I like so I took a .270 casing & cut the neck off. That was a perfect fit inside the casing neck on the 7.62. Then just glued my brass tube in & started assembling.
