Finished my breakfast table. The top is black walnut and the legs are western maple. I used a tung oil mix for the finish, followed up by a wipe-on oil based poly.

This is really nice. I like the contrast of the legs to the aprons/top!

I'll jump on the bandwagon and let you know your choice of woods and contrast and finish are great. It's a simple project executed with skill and class. It looks elegant and inviting. Nice job!

Thanks for all the positive comments! I've had the figured maple legs laying around for years waiting for the right top to compliment the color and figure. I knew it was worth the wait!
