Can anyone tell me what kind of vacuum attaches to the vacuum adapter that comes with the jointe?. I can find nothing in the shop that will plug onto or into the adapter. I have both 1.25" hose attachments and 2.5' hose attachments.

Try this. I use one of these on my Makita 6030 6" sander. I am not sure what diameter the DeWalt is but I bet it would work.

I think your best bet might be a little duct tape and a sheet of plastic cut from the side of a milk jug to make an adapter. That being said, I have one of those biscuit joiners and the square tube thingy that comes with it that snaps into the base of the tool seems like it often plugs up with the shavings from the cutter. there just isnt a big enough opening designed into the fixture. I have a ten-year-old DeWalt biscuit joiner, so it might not be the model you're working with. But the hose from my Festool CT22 plugs right into it.

My DW is an old one as well. I attach the hose from the vac to the rect. to round adapter that came with the joiner.
BTW, it is a good tool.

i use this kit from HD

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/Search?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&keyword=ridgid+shop%20vac%20accessories&Ns=None&Ntpr=1&Ntpc=1&selectedCatgry=Search+All

the middle item in the pic is what you need. the small end of that fitting fits over the end of the vacuum fitting on the dewalt joiner. the large end of the ridgid fitting then accepts a 2.5" shop vac hose. simplest adaptation i ever did. very, very plug and play.

and FTR, it's a dewalt JOINER, not a jointer.

I use my 1.5" hose with an adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Shop-vac-906-87-19-Universal-Tool-Adapter/dp/B00004RHKU/ref=sr_1_2?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1362327585&sr=1-2&keywords=vacuum+hose+adapter) that fits the small hose to the shopvac. The female end of the hose fits snugly over the DeWalt dust port. I cut the square flange off on mine and cut off a couple of the smaller rings to get it to the right size. The blue tape is for some other tool, I can't remember which, in which that the adapter was a little loose in fitting.

Thanks all. I will check out the Home Depot and/or Lowes vacuum accessories.
