Beech Bowl with pyrography. Around 8" (20cm) across. Finished with Bush oil and Polyurethane. Continuing my exploration of Zentangle (R) Inspired Art. Trying a new pattern.

How much is measured and how much is freeform?
Outstanding.

That is real cool Eric!! Such fine (as in tiny) lines...and fine (as in sweet!) line work. What pyro set up do you have and which tip had those results?

Thanks for the feedback

Outstanding.

Of the 500+ burn lines, all but 13 are freeform, and if I had thought it through better, I would have had only 7 measured lines.

I used a Razortip setup with a medium spear tip. Had to periodically sharpen it

Neat design Eric. The beech and burning go well together!

Really nice!!!
Only comment I would make (and this is nitpicking), is that the lines are a bit too thin. I also wonder if the effect would be more dramatic if some of the shapes were filled in.

Super! Love the way the pattern just 'fits' the bowl's shape.

Very nicely done, and the fact that most are freeform is just amazing, very beautiful.

That's a beautiful bowl! The color and burning all blends together so well. Love what you've done with it, so inspirational.

Beautiful bowl Eric! The form looks great, nice wood and great finish and the pyro looks great with it.

Beautifully done, Eric. The precision of your pyrography is wonderful, especially to know that nearly all of it is freeform.

This is only the third piece that I've done any pyro on more complex than signing my name on the bottom. Since pyro is quite new to me, I am maybe too cautious trying to avoid burning too hard. I have experimented with color, and maybe should consider black sections. So far, I have not been wild about the effect on this pattern, but do have some patterns that I am experimenting with using markers on paper that work better with black or shading

For some reason, I am reminded of Da Vinci by the pyrography on that bowl...and I'm definitely not an artist.
