Years ago I built this table for my baby daughter, then comes the grand kids who did an excellent job of trashing the original top. So I am replacing with a one inch thick, solid top. Maybe this one will hold up? I haven't put a finish on it yet but it already looks good. Thanks for looking.

With a one inch top, you can sand down any damage and refinish and it will last a long time:)

Looks good.

Ron,

Years ago I too built a table (coffee table) KNOWING it would be trashed by kids with cars, legos, food, etc. Mine was made out of RO with a 1 1/4 top. I had planned on sanding it down at some point and making it look good again. But with over 110 foster kids that have passed thru our home each nick and dent and scratch left us with something to remember them by as we're going to retire from foster care after 22+ years.

I guess I'll just buff out the finish and rewax.

I think you will really like the character the table will retain. Go for it!

The top is nice.

More details about the stretcher, please.
That's unusual and clearly made well.

Nice top, that should hold up for your lifetime and beyond.
