Does anyone know a source in the DFW area for cut nails? I have a project in mind that would use these, probably in a 3 inch length. LV has them up to 2 inches, and VanDykes has larger ones, but I need only a few and really don't want to pay $8 or $10 shipping for $3 or $4 worth of product.

to my knowlege all of the cut nails you see advertised are made by the

tremont nail company.. google them and then order by mail...it will be the best and least expensive option in the long run

I have about 20 pounds of 2 1/4" Tremont cut nails that I would be willing to make a deal on. Willing to trade plus postage or whatever.

My problem is I need about half a dozen. Thanks for the offer, though. I'll get 'er done.

Dan, stop by a feed or tack store and ask for horseshoe nails. They are a little different from a typical cut nail, but might be a workable substitute, depending on how you are using them.

Alan,
FYI, Horseshoe nails are way too soft to be a replacement for cut nails. They're also designed to bend (they're directional).

Thanks, Allan. I thought of that. But they were too short and as Bill said, too soft.
