Bosch 1617EVS Router Question

Hi,

I just received one of these "new" and turned it on. It sounds fine when running at any speed, but makes a minor rattling or knocking sound when it slows down just before stopping. Is this normal for this unit?

I have a 1617 that I use for hand held work (mostly use the router table). I never noticed any unusual noise in the unit when shutting down.

Mine makes noise but it is getting up there in age. The bearings are nearly shot. I squirt some WD40 in there and it smooths it out.

Is the collet tight? Does it do that with or without a bit in the collet?

If it's noisy with a cutter in it, does that cutter have a bearing on it?
