I often heard the assistant headmaster of a school suggests to students that they try playing "slo-mo" football during a free period. I don't recall that the kids every tried it. They preferred to do volleyball or something more conventional, so I never got to see a game of slo-mo football. From the descriptions I heard, I imagine it as a somewhat humorous game that would be like regular football except that there is a referee who counts out loud slowly 1...2....3 . On each count the players are only allowed to do a single action such as take one step, turn their body, throw the ball, jump. Has anyone ever see this game played? Do I imagine it correctly?

Didn't you see the niners at first and goal in the super bowl?

We used to play that when we were kids. It was essentially tv slow-mo highlight reel plays on every snap...spins, stiff arms, defenders missing, big hits, etc. It was fun for a bit, but we never played it for long before going back to live action, no pads, full contact.
