I have been unable to get any uninterrupted time in my shop in a couple of weeks now... and it's driving me bat crazy! The last week and a half were spent "remodeling" the munchkin's room... new furniture (cool bookshelf, bed still to be purchased), paint (pumpkin and turquoise with designs on the wall), accessories (complementary colors on artsy-fartsy stuff), etc. This kid is getting a better room than anything I've ever had! The the honey-do list is still there, slowly growing because I'm not actively whittling it down.

I have a new vacuum chamber, stabilizing resin, dyes and pigments, etc. to play with. I have blanks that need sorting. I have designs running through my head but no time to put them into action. <sigh> This sucks! Maybe next weekend...

Anyone else go stir-crazy when they can't get in the shop?

I am pretty sure the munchkin needs something round in the super-room!

A pumpkin to go with the pumpkin color?

A giant turquoise top?

It may be well into spring before I can get back to the lathe. Right now I am rebuilding the staircase in the house. After that I have to replace the bathtub upstairs and lay new ceramic tile in there. And then I will pull up all the carpet upstairs and put down new wood flooring. I just got my new roborest and don't know when I might get it set up.

Dan,
Draw the designs on paper and go play with the "Munchkin". That lathe will be there till you are old and gray. The little ones get big too fast.

I feel for you. I just bought a Les Paul and since then, I've barely made any shop time. Of course, I guess I'm not really complaining. Come to think about it, I have no idea what you're talking about. :)

I'm with Faust. The time with the munchkins goes by soooo quickly. You never get any of it back . . . .

My kids keep thinking if things I can make them. They've been playing with tops a lot.

I have been too... :-)

Don't worry, Faust, I'm not missing much time with the munchkin. I'm doing my "upgrades" on the days she stays with her father, which is usually the time I get into the workshop, hence my loss of lathe time. Other than a few knick knacks, we're done with the room (finally), so let's see if I can't get some fun time this coming weekend...
