Here is a NE cherry bowl that I recently finished. It is 16 inches plus. The finish is WOP, 5 or 6 coats, I lost track. I just keep putting it on till I get the look that I’m shooting for. I had to patch one small spot on the bark that was missing when I started. Thanks for looking and C&C are welcome.

Very beautiful Fred. And nice job keeping the bark intact (except for the repair you noted).

Fred, what can be better than cherry? I know, NE cherry. That little raise at the bottom is too short to be called a foot but will still give stability and more importantly, add lift. Sweet bowl. Great finish.

Nice job. I have tired WOP a few times. What process do you use? Do you sand in between coats? Thanks,

Thomas I slop on a lot of finish and rub it in good for the first coat, I then wipe it dry as I can get it and let it set for at least 24 hours. The rest of the coats I put the finish on with a folded shop towel, putting it on very thin coats. It will dry till you can redo in about 5 hours depending on conditions in the shop, I use 0000 steel wool between every other coat. I will take 5 or 6 coats to get a nice finish. I also buff and wax.
