Can you glue wood to a bakelite button?

I was thinking of using an old large bakelite button for a lid. For the lid to sit on top of the box I would have to glue a tenon on to fit inside the box. ?

I've glued bakelite to wood on pens. I used 5 minute epoxy and they're still together.

I'd say Grant W is right if you use epoxy I don't see why it won't work.

Well guess I will have to give it a go and see then. I have several small tubes of to part epoxy.
