View Full Version : Less expensive hinges?

My son needs 20 pairs of chrome plated, possibly ball tip cabinet hinges (2-1/2" high by 2" wide, opened ) for his kitchen cabinets.

We're having some heartache at the idea of paying $25 - $35 a pair! Talk about sticker shock!

Can anyone recommend a reliable and lower-priced source for these?

Thanks very much,
Russ

If you go with cheap hinges, you will wish that you hadn't. Schaub is about the lowest priced hinge that I would use. Even at $10 each, you might get a couple that don't function properly.

I've found that Lee Valley has very good selection and prices

Yup, another fan of Horton Brass. I use the non-mortise fairly often at $9 a pair. If your going for the mortise hinges they're a little more....maybe $15 or so a pair? I've tried several cheaper hinges and they were....well.....cheaper:(

good luck,

I'll be third in line to recommend Horton Brasses - top notch quality and service for me for the last 15 years or so.
i haven't found a better hinge or one even close for the money.
