Anyone know of a local supplier that would have the ipe? I need a piece that is 10' long, 4-5 1/2 " wide, and 1 1/2" high. I appreciate any help you can give. (I need to make a threshold for the shop door that is impervious to moisture, even water, and can withstand a vehicle driving over it at infrequent times. If anyone knows something that would be better, I'm all ears!! Can't find aluminum thresholds over 6' in length) Jim

Have you tried Austin Hardwoods? I've seen IPE there before.

I'm here in NY and don't know a supplier but if you Google ipe you will find someone. Ipe is a great choice. I built my front porch from it and am very happy. I bought mine from www.Lumberliquidators.com and got a good price even with the shipping. Maybe they would ship some to you. Good luck.

Thanks! I haven't actually gone to look anywhere yet. You both have given some good ideas. I went to the Lumber Luquidators web site, but Ipe is not listed in their species list. I will still call them. Thanks again. Jim

They have alot that isn't listed on the site. With shipping I paid about $1.15 a linear foot for s4s e4e 1x3. Much less than local suppliers.
