These are made from wood that Prashun Patel sent me last year. I thought I had used it all up, and then found more in a box under a box under an outfeed table.

Small bowl - silver maple
Large bowl - box elder
Chalice - spalted maple

Brian, you seem to have come along way in your turnings. I love the calabash.

Lookin good, brian. That calabash must have made you proud. That undercut is a good feat.

Are you sure the ogee is silver maple? Looks more like cherry from here...?

I agree about the color, Prashun. There is some nice figure in it, and I turned off the writing, so I am not certain. There is another piece marked Big Leaf Maple and I'll compare the two when it is done.

 After I turned a few of the pieces from you and John Keeton, I had them all laid out to see what there was to work with - what to try first and what to save for later. So you may have gotten thanks for what John sent and John may have gotten thanks for what you sent!

Whatever the case, thank you John, Prashun, and Kathy - all of whom have been exceedingly kind, generous and friendly to get me started! :D
