I have a couple of panels for a chest of drawers that need to be planed. I have a LV #4 Planer and a BUJ. The #4 has a 30 degree bevel and the BUJ has a 25 degree bevel. What is the order that I should use them? There is some irregularity where the panels are joined so a little work is needed. I also have planned on using a card scraper to finish the panels.

The 7 first. It gets the panel flat. The 4 just makes the flat pretty.

The bevel up plane will get you nice and flat and the 4 will get everything nice and smooth. If you ease the corners of the iron on the 4, you might not need the scraper.

To add a wrinkle to the steps mentioned above, consider a carbide scraper (http://www.tools-plus.com/sandvik-bahco-650.html?utm_medium=shopeng&utm_source=pricegrabber&utm_term=SND650).
I find them MUCH easier to handle than a card scraper, and they leave a burnished surface.
The handle makes controlled shavings near tearout much easier to manage.
I ease the outside edge of the factory blade with a diamond hone.
