PM 701 Mortiser Motor "Click"

I have a feeling that nothing is wrong but need to verify.

I just purchased a Powermatic PM 701 mortiser. I sent it up and just did a couple of test holes.

When shutting the thing off, there is a "click" in the motor just before the bit stops rotating. I did it 3-4 times with the same results.

Is this normal? I couldn't find anything is the manual that addresses this.

Perhaps the centrifugal starting switch. They are snap action, and I've heard them in some of the quieter motors.

I have a PM 701, which I use regularly. Haven't heard a click when it's winding down, but I usually have the shop vac on, collecting chips and wear hearing protection. I'll turn it on tomorrow and check for the click. Get back to you.
