turning spheres

I thought I’d share this. It is useful for starting spheres between centers or for making a sphere on the end of a spindle; like a bedpost or handle for something. No jig required. I’ve used it and it works, especially if you use a piece of squarely cut off pipe smaller in diameter than the sphere as a gauge or a cardboard template. I think this is how the Soren Berger sphere caliper works, just without the caliper. I hope someone finds it useful . :)
