I've owned but never used this RAS since the early 90's. I've done that with several tools over the years but
now that I'm retired and finally setting up my WW shop I seem to have misplaced a few items (like the RAS
tabletop). I know the tabletop is 26-3/8" deep X 36" wide from a FWW RAS tool test chart. Would someone with the same saw please tell me the exact size of the rear board that gets clamped against the fence rail. I just want to crosscut and dadoe boards. Thanks for your help.

There’s a little bit more to the setup than just clapping a particle board top back down and having at it. All the accuracy the saw will ever yield, and it is substantial, comes from a well constructed top, just as you would expect from a tablesaw.

To begin, the table surface is divided into 3 components: the main fixed one in front, and two adjustable ones behind the fence. It is strongly suggested you provide what is called a sacrificial top to the fixed table, so that as it becomes scarred, it can be replaced by a fresh one. When mounting the new fixed one, you must set up the saw in the “In rip” position, this will properly register the far end. This link to a rebuild (http://people.delphiforums.com/perristalsis/MBF_%20Saw_Restoration/DeWalt_MBF_Saw_Restoration.htm) of a DeWalt MBF gives much detail about how this is done, and also fabrication of the main table.

Accurate setup for the blade is described in this link (http://people.delphiforums.com/perristalsis/DeWalt_Blade_Align/DeWalt_Blade_Alignment.htm).

The full table components are:
Main, 18” deep
Back Board 1, 6 ½” deep
Back Board 2, 1 ½” deep

Width can be as needed, in my rebuilds I find 32” is more than enough for cabinetry and furniture making.
