Lou,
Great job!
With students Lou, a cross cut sled is very helpful. It is more comfortable than a mater gauge and far more accurate than a CMS. You may already be using one?

Lou, very nice metalwork. Your protege is a lucky guy. Is that a Curly maple throat plate?

I'm sure it will work as great as it looks. Even the throat insert plate looks nice! I bought my last one but I'll try making my next one. Always nice to see a good safety feature.

hi mark
I do not have a sled for this saw yet. That is a good idea, and I should make one.
Hi alan and david
yes it is a curly maple throat plate. It is a good way to use up scraps laying around. If you would like to have one for your saw, just let me know and I would be glad to provide the stock for free.
