this is the 4th piece in my Erosion Series. I went about this one a tad differently. The "erosion face" is still there, but the "slots" are all entirely through, unlike the last 3 where they varied in depth and were through in some areas, and not in others. I like this wood, black limba, as it has great color variations. About 8 inches in diameter

that's just a really happy looking piece...not sure why...just is. Probably the variation and randomness of the cuts. I like it.

Another nice one Michelle.......that grain in the limba and the colors in it set this one off........nicely done!

I like this one a lot more than the first one, Mick. The coloring in the wood really adds a depth to this.

Great decision on the color of the wood. It really looks special and just adds to an already interesting piece. We had a old member of the Chicago Woodturners that treated thin winged bowls with acid baths. The erosion was quite drastic and somewhat caustic. The finished pieces were extremely fragile. Keep up the great work and always enjoy you work.

Beautiful piece. The color variations look like a sunset over an ocean. Very cool!

Looks great Michelle! I like the randomness of the slots and I agree that black limba is a nice wood for this piece. I did some salt and pepper mills from white limba and black limba and the color variations give a great effect.
