Hi All,

I found a George Scherr toolchest last weekend. The outside is covered in black leather (I think, or synthetic look-alike) and has an oak frame and drawers. Its in pretty good shape and I think I got a decent price - $80.

I couldn't really find any information on the web about the chests. I found a good deal of material about tools (micrometers mostly) from Scherr and Scherr-Tumico. Are these good chests? How would one compare to a Gerstner or Kennedy?

Any other opinions would be very welcome. Thanks in advance!

Pictures are needed. Scherr Tumico(Tubular micrometer Co.) measuring tools are perfectly fine, quality products. They made mikes with hollow steel frames to make them lighter, especially in the larger sizes, micrometers can get unwieldy to try to get a delicate touch with.
