I did turn it out a condemned bit of pear
with random centres
with a little pyro in order to give some "ethnic" style
3 1/2 H X 3 5/8 dia, danish oil.
Friendly,
Lionel.

Very cool Lionel. I wonder if that technique would translate to larger objects, or would it be too scary?

Lionel - as always, your work is unique and imaginative! Very interesting piece! I am not sure if I like this combination of off-center turning and pyro work. In the second photo, they seem to be fighting each other instead of complimenting - in my opinion.

Greta piece. Did you hollow the base portion through a smaller opening before repositioning to do the neck? Or was it hollowed once the neck was done?

Just wondering about the weight distribution within the piece as the neck makes it look quite light.

Hi all, thanks for your comments,
@ Steve:
The design of the pyro was partly dicted by some cracks in the wood
@ Lloyd:
Yes, I did hollowing first through a narrow hole, then on a second axe, I have shaped the neck
a third axe for slicing the base
of course the wall of the body is thicker...
