Lidded Beech Box

I had heard that beech would crack easily after it's cut and that was certainly an understatement. Literally, I could watch it crack while I was bandsawing it. Anyway, this chunk held together to produce this box. Pretty darn hard wood, but it turned nicely. I guess I could have wiped the buffing fuzz off...............
