This is 6 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" outside diameter. the wall are 1/8" at the top tapering to 3/16 at the bottom. Sanded to 400 grit with Mahoney's Walnut Oil, wiped to remove excess oil and dust and let dry for 24 hrs before buffing with tripoli, white diamond and ren wax.

Low gloss and no problems with the white diamond as I had partially filled the pores with the sanding slurry, and buffed with the grain.
C & C welcome as always.
This was from a 6x12x8' timber I bought. Unfortunately the would be turner that had had the wood cut dis not know to exclude the pith which runs right up the center. To make things worse, the timber was left outside, unprotected and has both deep checking and wind shake cracking, so no large bowls. I cut off a 1' section and this was the largest portion that was solid and fault free.
My wife has already claimed the piece for the kitchen, though I told her she could not have it until after the next club meeting show and tell.
