We registered for the show last week and almost immediately started getting spammed big time. Anyone else? This happened a few years ago but this time we opted out of getting info from their vendors. Didn't work and now getting hit so hard I may have to change emails again. Some are getting passed the spam folder. Has this happened to anyone else here or anyone know what I can do without changing accounts?

NBM is the worst. Not to mention the sale of the list to people. I get calls from people telling me they met me at the show when we never stopped at their booth. Several years ago, I created an email address not related to our business and I use it to register for ALL shows. Stopped all the email issues. I'll check it from time to time and it'll have 100's and 100's of emails in it.

If you are using outlook for your email, create a rule to automatically put them into a junk folder or automatically delete them.

That doesn't work if they sell your email to their vendors. You have no idea who's going to send you mail that day. I just checked my email. In one month, that "show" email has gotten over 300 emails. All from people they sold the names to, as they are all related to our industry.

True, but at least you will get only one from a company if you include only the domain in the block (ie. @spammercompany.com). That is what I do and it has been fairly effective.

Yep, spammed to the hilt every time.

At least 90% of mine are not even industry related. My wife registered herself online and it wouldn't let her register me. Their software stated that the email she was trying to use was already used. She opted out of the contacts by vendors but she had to call in to register me. That must be when the lady didn't opt out for contacts. Most of the emails have some things in common such as the "unsubscribe" is in blue but not clickable. I called and the lady at NBM said they do not sell the info but slipped a few times and back tracked. I like the shows but have to change the way of registering.

My spam isn't that bad. I get 60 or 70 a day but more than 90% go into my junk mail and most are not related to NBM. I've been attending their shows for years and the ASI and PPAI people are annoying but I'm not getting the numbers you've mentioned.
