Hi Guys,

does anybody know any add on or macro for Corel Draw that can create a tail for each design including external and internal curves to eliminate blast points. It is not a problem to do it for square designs although it is an extra time I would love to avoid but for anything curved it will be hard to do it manually.

I do not have this problem in my 100W LaserPro machine but the new one which is coming next week is 280W and it has this problem.

For those who does not know what I am taking about it's a start point where the laser is fired and make a first punch hole. It's wider that the laser bean and it lefts a cone shaped hole before it starts moving along the path. I have been told that I need to add a tail in my design that leads to the actual cutting path. This way the blast point will be outside of the actual design.

I think it is better explained at http://www.australiasigns.com.au/_aasigns/lasercutting_pathdirection.html
And here is a video where you can see the laser cutting and leaving these blast marks

It's commonly called "lead in" and "lead out". I've never seen any plug-ins that do it. I have seen software from Trotec that does it, called TroCAM, but it's $5K.

LaserWorks does lead-ins and lead-outs. You can specify inside or outside, straight or arced and the length.

Thank you guys for its name and suggestions. The laser comes with its original software for cutting and it may have this feature but I cannot check it until the whole package is delivered. Software does not function 100% without a usb dongle.

If it needs a dongle it is probably Lasercut 5.3. It also has lead-in, lead-out, straight or arced and length. I use it all the time with very detailed washers.

So it looks like you are covered regardless of what software comes with the new machine.

No, it is not LaserCut. It is called EZLASER CAM (http://www.ezlasermachine.com/products-EZLASER%20CAM%20(Cutter).html) and it is written for LaserLife lasers only and supplied only with their machines. I have checked everywhere in it and it does not seem to have this feature at all.
