Take a look at this craigslist ad (not mine) ..... is that blood on that bandsaw?

I doubt it. I've bleed enough over the years to know that it never stays a bright red color for very long. It's at least a dark red, and sometimes looks rust colored or even darker.

I'll bet someone butchered a deer with it.

He stated it had "paint dripped on it" in the description. Did make me look twice before reading though.

Maybe so, but when I got this saw, the last thing it had cut was a deer.
Looked just like that one.

I remember when I was a kid my dad butchered a deer in the basement, but he used a TABLESAW! Talk about a mess. I remember red streaks on the overhead joists.

I believe there were some deleted scenes from "A Christmas story" including road kill deer and a freezer that was too small...

I own that same 12" JET band saw which I bought a few years ago at the local Woodcraft. He's selling it for $400 and states it's half the original retail. I can't exactly remember what I paid but think it was just under $400.

For a hobbyist (like me) it's a pretty good saw but I never thought it would increase in value over time .

Blood, not blood. Doesn't matter. $400 way too much for that bandsaw.

That is one nice saw Myk, with the jackshaft pulley it looks like it can do both metal and wood cutting, I do admire an efficient tool design, makes the most of shop floor space.

<chuckle> I would leave it and tell people it was from the last person who used the saw and didn't abide by your safety rules ;)

Yeah, I thought man he is trying to squeeze out Blood with that price. I sold that saw for $225 to a friend that wanted it bad.

I butchered a deer on a 14" Delta once. Now I have a 21" bandsaw so I can make bookmatched elk veneer.

Book matched jerky would be so cool.

He must had sliced a pizza and ketchup dripped on that band saw. That is too red to be a blood.

Especially too much for a saw that you cannot test because it needs new tires.
