This is a ash bowl 7" round, Dyed with artisan dyes diluted by 1 to 1 with DNA. First dyed red sanded back lightly then dyed yellow. Then 8 coats of antique oil. Comments and critique welcome!

That is an outstanding piece of work I love the nice flowing round rim to bottom.

Nice dye work. Good job sanding back and the use of yellow to highlight the wood. You might try rubbing black wax or dark shoe polish into the grain to accent the open pores while filling them in. Just another option?

Bob I have another one almost finished that I opened the pores with a brass brush then used liming wax to accent the grain then lacquered for finish . I will post soon. G

So neat. Hope to see it soon. Keep playing with it. There is tons of dead ash around Chicago and filling the grain really helps make it look better.
