Always surprised about the useful information I find on this site. After reading about the noise levels of oiless compressors, which are high and plus the fact when it would start up I would jump about a foot or so which isn't bad for someone my age, I bit the bullet and sold my Craftsman and bought a Husky at the local orange box today. Hard to beleive how much quiter an oil sump compressor is.
For those interested in a small compressor, 5hp, 26 gal, it was a good buy. Reduced in price form $399 to $369 and I was able to use a "Friends and Family" 10% off coupon. Plus, Home Depot is running a special on air tool purchases so with the purchase of the compressor a finish nailer, and impact wrench, I got a gift card worth $125.
