Actually over the past month I've turned quite a few hollowforms, just yesterday I roughed out five new pieces between 6" - 8" in width.
This one however has some "nice figure and spalting" so I felt it worthy of posting, Turned from a small crotch piece of London Plane, measures 4 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w with a wall thickness of 1/8" or less and an opening of 1/2"

Great piece of wood and wonderful turning! What did you use to get right up under the top surface?

Love it John. How the heck do you manage to hollow that thin through such a small hole?

That's a beauty, John. Those flatter tops are hard to get right, but I think you hit it.

That is a beautiful piece. I am also impressed that you can rough out 5 hollow forms in a day. It takes me at least an hour to do the hollowing on one using the Monster articulated system, and I don't often try for an opening smaller than an inch. What is your secret?
