Afternoon all,

I figured all you experts out there could help me. I was wanting to make some presents for wife. Essentially I was planning on making some stackable trays and wanted to use dovetails to join them. However, I can't figure out how you mount the bottom into the sides and not have a groove showing through the dovetails?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

Randy if you use blind dovetail machine you have to cut the grove in the middle of the tail on the first full tail from the bottom if I remember right.

Randy,
Use your router table if you have one and set stops about 1/4" from the ends. You may have to adjust the dado to the dovetails. Otherwise, just cut the corners of the bottom to fit.

Randy I knew I was forgetting something, Joe got it, it was the groove setback from the end on that second tail. Thanks Joe its been years since I sold the dovetail jig that I cut blind dovetails with.
