Does anyone have a source for the replacement UHMW tape that is one the rails of an Excalibur sliding table? I need to pick some up to replace it on the table that I just bought. It is 1/2" wide and 1/8" thick. I can't seem to locate any material that thick anywhere...

Only place I have seen it so far is $20/foot for 12" wider material. I would need 2' and cut it to width myself.

Perhaps the tape doesn't need to be so thick and I can get away with some of the thinner stuff?

Thanks,
Ben

Check Woodcraft & Peachtree. I have gotten it from them in the past.

I just saw some rolls of it at woodcraft this weekend. I almost bought it "just in case something came up where I'd need it".

Thanks guys, but the Woodcraft stuff is only 1/32" thick and I am afraid it would wear out quickly.

Perhaps buying 1/8" sheet and trying to glue it in place would work.

United States Plastics is a good source for plastics/polymers. They stock UHMW polyethylene tape but only in .010" thickness. They do however have sheetstock in 1/8" thickness which, as you mentioned, could be attached with an adhesive.

Take a look at McMaster Carr, they carry a good selection UHMW strip, tapes rods and shapes.
