View Full Version : Maple Vessel and a Gloat

This is a piece of maple I brought out from NC, Robs yard to be exact. There were some pretty good longitudinal cracks, so I left it a little thicker than I usually would. Some great color on this like the platter I did. Form is 10"x6" and about 1/4" wall thickness. Finish is Dr Workshop Walnut Oil. There are several cracks around the neck, so undecided if I'll so a finial for it. I also picked up Terry Scotts Manta Ray DVD and Escoulens Bedan DVD. Both are excellent.Thanks for looking.

Pretty wood Nate. JMO but I am not sure a finial would do much for the rustic look. Might even be a distraction.

That is a beauty Nate. I wouldn't put a finial on. I agree it has a nice rustic look as is.

Very nice Nate! Wood looks great and I agree the rustic look doesn't need a finial.
