Hi , I've got a Delta HD shaper , newer model. It includes a 43-800 router bit spindle I've never used. The spindle has two interchangeable collets for 1/4" and 1/2" bits. When you go to install a bit, there are two flats on the spindle that I assume are there to hold the spindle in place when tightening the collet. The odd thing is the flats are not parallel. So seem to call for a special tapered wrench. No such wrench seems to exist anywhere that I can find. So, what am I missing? I know lots of folks have these adapters. How do you actually install and remove the bits? I know there is controversy about using router bits in shapers. Not interested in confronting that , just how to properly install bits in the adapter.
Thanks for any help,
David

The flats are supposed to be parallel. One of the first jobs I had at PC Delta was in the machine shop and one of the many parts we produced were spindles and collets. Someone was asleep at the switch when yours was milled.
