I have been looking about for things to turn. Two maple and one birch, oil and wax finish.

These sell well too. Use a spike instead of a base so they can be placed in a garden. Turn the cap from wet/green wood and let it split, it just adds to the natural appearance. Also it is a good item to try some offset spindle turning on the stem. Several members of our club make these and just soak the cap in varnish or BLO

Thom; interesting thoughts. I did some off set on the tall one in order to tip the cap.

Nice shrooms Allan, looks like there on top a wood stove sauteing nicely :) I did some at a public demo a few years ago & handed them out to kids. I had fun & the kids loved them.

Nice mushrooms Allan! They are fun to do and a good way to use up small branches.
