I have an old Rockwell 32" Radial Drill Press Model 11-280 that I've had since about 1976 and is still in good condition. However, the chuck is worn considerably and I would like to replace it but have been having difficulty finding a replacement or an alternative. The original chuck is a "Jacobs DC8K33 No.33 taper" with a capacity of 5/64" to 1/2". Am open to suggestions / recommendations. Thanks - Ray Riddell

Ray,

I have the manual for the drill press in the garage and will look to see what they indicate is an acceptable chuck. For that matter, if you send your address in a private message, I will forward the manual to you. I had the drill press but gave it away a while back.

MSC has plenty, it appears Jacobs has changed their numbering system over the years.

Removal wedges are also a handy thing to have.

I did find the manual but the chuck I thought might have belonged with it ended up being a #2 WT instead of a #33 JT.250767
